Elections
The NAECTE elections are underway, with voting scheduled to close May 15. We have a strong slate of candidates running for 2-year terms for VP for Membership, Secretary, Affiliate Chair and Regional Representatives in odd-numbered regions.

The on-line voting is going very well, and it’s a good use of resources, but if you would prefer a paper ballot please forward the email with the link to Nancy at the address above. Be sure to indicate the address where you would like the paper ballot sent, and we’ll get a copy to you promptly.

Two Great Opporutnities for Research Support and Recognition!
June 1st is the application deadline for two awards from the NAECTE Foundation. One is for a current member of the National Association of Early Childhood Teacher Educators with an earned doctorate who has a research project in progress or one that will begin at the time the award is received. An award of $2,000 will be distributed in two installments. The other award is for a doctoral student who is completing dissertation research that has the potential to enrich the field by addressing critical issues and/or innovative practice. In addition to a $1,000 award, the winner will receive a year’s membership in NAECTE. Further details for applying are available at the naecte.org/foundation website.

- To discuss educational issues specific to our membership
- To advocate for improvements in early childhood teacher education
- Provide a forum for consideration of issues and concerns of interest to educators of early childhood teacher educators
- Provide a communication network for early childhood teacher educators
- Facilitate the interchange of information and ideas about research and practice
- Use, as vehicles, the Journal of Early Childhood Teacher Education, conferences, resolutions, position papers, and other publications
- Cooperate with other national and international organizations concerned with the study and education of young children
